Usage

This template is a general-purpose template for Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations, which is intended to replace the old RFCU and SPIclose templates as well as formally deprecate the old "code letter" system of CheckUser requests.

The template takes only one parameter, which is optional. Details are given below.

When a status parameter is placed as shown above, it will display the following:

clerkCategory:SPI cases needing a ClerkClerk assistance is requested in the case below.
admin or administratorCategory:SPI cases needing an Administrator – An SPI clerk has requested administrator assistance for action regarding the case below. The requested action is below.
decline or declinedCategory:SPI cases declined for checkuser by clerk – An SPI clerk has declined a request for CheckUser, and the case is now awaiting a behavioural investigation.
CUdecline or CUdeclinedCategory:SPI cases declined for checkuser by CU – A checkuser has declined a request for CheckUser, and the case is now awaiting a behavioural investigation.
holdCategory:SPI cases on hold by clerk – An administrator or SPI clerk has placed this case on hold pending further information or developments.
cuholdCategory:SPI cases on hold by checkuser – A checkuser has placed this case on hold pending further information or developments.
moreinfoCategory:SPI cases requesting more information – An administrator or SPI clerk requires more information to determine what action to take.
cumoreinfoCategory:SPI cases requesting more information – A user has requested CheckUser, but more information is required before deciding whether to check.
endorse or endorsedCategory:SPI cases waiting for a CheckUser – An SPI clerk has endorsed a request for CheckUser. A checkuser will shortly review the case.
cuendorse or cuendorsedCategory:SPI cases waiting for a CheckUser – A checkuser has endorsed a request for CheckUser. A checkuser will shortly review the case.
inprogress or checkingCategory:SPI cases currently being checked – A checkuser is in the process of checking relevant users.
checked or completedCategory:SPI cases CU complete – A checkuser has completed a check on relevant users in this case, and it is now awaiting administration and close.
relist or relistedCategory:SPI cases relisted for a CheckUser – An SPI clerk has relisted this case for a checkuser to make another check.
close or closedCategory:SPI cases awaiting archive – This SPI case is closed and will be archived shortly by an SPI clerk or checkuser.

Category suppression

Categorization will be suppressed if this template is transcluded on any Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/SPI page or subpage or any page that is not a subpage.

Template suppression

While SPI clerks are encouraged to remove this template before moving a case into an SPI case's /Archive page, this template, including any categorization, will be suppressed if used on an /Archive page.
