This template generates an external link from a persistent identifier for a metadata entry within the Japan Center for Asian Historical Records (JACAR), a part of the National Archives of Japan.

Usage

Standard usage as a citation is: {{JACAR|ID|Title}} or {{JACAR|id=ID|title=Title|editor=Editor}}

To generate only the URL: {{JACAR|ID|plainurl=1}} or {{JACAR|id=ID|plainurl=1}}

For compatibility with the Japanese version of this template, {{JACAR|ID|Title|1}} generates a less verbose link.

The ID is the key for the item found in the URL https://www.jacar.archives.go.jp/aj/meta/MetSearch.cgi?IS_KEY_S1=ID&SUM_KIND=SimpleSummary&IS_KIND=detail&IS_SCH=META&IS_STYLE=...
