An infobox for texts within Pāli literature, displaying metadata, relational information (parent, children, commentaries), and external links like SuttaCentral.

Template parameters[Edit template data]

This template prefers block formatting of parameters.

Parameter		Description	Type	Status
Title	title	The main title for the infobox. If left blank, it will default to the page name. Example Majjhima Nikāya	String	optional
Title translation	title_translation	The English translation of the title above (optional). Example The Middle-length Discourses	String	optional
Type	type	The type of text (e.g., Canonical text, Paracanonical text, Commentarial text, Subcommentarial text, Subsubcommentarial text). Example Canonical text	String	optional
Parent Collection	parent	The parent collection or major division the text belongs to (e.g., Khuddaka Nikāya). Use 'prev' and 'next' for navigation within the collection. Example [[Majjhima Nikāya]]	Page name	optional
Contains	children	The texts or sections contained within this text (e.g., if this is a Sutta Piṭaka, the contents would be Dīgha Nikāya, Majjhima Nikāya, etc.).	Content	optional

Compendium on	compendium_on	The text that this text summarizes or is a compendium of.	Page name	optional

Commentary	comment_by	The name of the commentary text (Aṭṭhakathā). Write the original name first, followed by its section or common name in parentheses. Example `Papañcasūdanī (Majjhimanikāya-aṭṭhakathā)` or `Līnatthappakāsana (Sīlakkhandhavaggaṭīkā, Mahāvaggaṭīkā, Pāthikavaggaṭīkā)`	Page name	optional

Abbreviation	abbrev	The common abbreviation used to refer to this text/sutta. Example `MN 2` for a text/sutta; or `MN` for the Majjhima Nikāya volume	String	optional
Previous Text/Book	prev	The name of the preceding text/book in the sequence (use 'parent' for context). Example `[[Mūlapariyāya Sutta|MN 1]]` for the sutta before MN 2; or `[[Dīgha Nikāya|DN]]` for the collection before Majjhima Nikāya	Page name	optional
