Christ Church (London, Ontario)

edit
  • ... that children smoked out their priest before Christ Church was completed?

Toronto: University of Toronto Press. doi:10.3138/j.ctvfrxbbj. ISBN 978-1-4875-8257-9. ... outdoor service was held on Thursday afternoons on the ground on which Christ Church now stands, which had been donated by Bishop Cronyn. These outdoor services were well attended but the boys were frequently very troublesome. The stump of an old tree was the pulpit; this was hollow at the base. On one occasion the boys filled this with dried leaves and while the sermon was proceeding a lighted match was introduced and the preacher had to descend ignominiously and was greeted with shouts and laughter of the said boys.

  • The article was made and nominated on the 27th, so is new enough. At over 4000 characters, it is more than long enough. The article is properly sourced with good references and the copyvio detector finds only a couple generic comparatives (the address, the architectural style name, some generic interior names, ect), so no issues there. The hooks are properly cited inline, short enough, and the primary hook is suitable hilarious. Love your phrasing there of the event. There's no images to consider and the QPQ has been done. Everything looks good to go! SilverserenC 00:06, 1 May 2026 (UTC)
    • Thanks, Silver seren. I'm just going to add an ALT0a in case it's easier to read:
  • ... that children smoked their priest off his pulpit before Christ Church was completed?

That does make it more clear. Approve ALT0a. SilverserenC 18:00, 1 May 2026 (UTC)
