Recent deletion of content
edit@Shink77, Why you are constantly removing the expanded lead section ? again i am saying you to read what WP:LEAD section say - The lead should stand on its own as a concise overview of the article's topic. It should identify the topic, establish context, explain why the topic is notable, and summarize the most important points, including any prominent controversies.
so please participate in discussion if you think his controversy is not notable. if you don't then don't delete the lead content.
(Regards) Callmehelper (talk) 21:28, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
- As I stated earlier, the information being provided by you has already been mentioned in depth in relevant sections therefore, there is no logical need to include it in the introductory description of the artist which should be concise, notable and to the point, not like an essay. Regards. Shink77 (talk) 00:18, 29 May 2025 (UTC)
Article's nature
editThe article seems to have been written from a fan's perspective, disturbing the neutral stance that a Wikipedia article has to exhibit. Moreover, it is filled with grammatical errors and irrelevant information on the artist. UNIVERSALLORD77 (talk) 06:11, 18 June 2025 (UTC)

Main Hoon Balatkari
edit@Shink77: Hi, why did you revert my rewrite of this paragraph? The sources cited are about a single specific rape-glorifying song, "Main Hoon Balatkari", being attributed to Singh - not some of his songs, which depict supposed misogyny
. Belbury (talk) 20:41, 22 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Shink77: You've restored the "some of his songs, which depict supposed misogyny" again saying
Controversy was surrounded around 1 particular track only but several other tracks and features which people felt were offensive
. What other tracks? Why should the article not identify the particular track that's mentioned in detail and by name in the press coverage? Belbury (talk) 17:51, 30 June 2025 (UTC)- Dear Belbury, as I stated during the edit revision that "Controversy was surrounded around 1 particular track only but several other tracks and features which people felt were offensive" to further explain my point, tracks such as "Party All Night" "Chaar Botal Vodka" and recently, "Makhna" "Maniac" "Jatt Mehkma" have all had some sort of controversy surrounded with them such as an alleged vulgur word being muted in "Party All Night" and an FIR being filed for the bhojpuri sample in "Maniac" and a plea which the hon'ble Delhi High Court rejected. The controvery of the former track has already been mentioned. I'm pretty certain you read the revert by me which has the most encompassing statement written by some other user that encapsulates the whole array of allegations being brought against Mr. Singh. So, to only state 1 track and ignore the rest would be really unfair and would violate the neutrality of this article as nobody here is trying to get some "spicy headlines" type statements as this is an article, not a news outlet where you have to worry about TRP. Statements being written by the previous editors with verified sources mentioned, which have been agreed upon shall not be tampered. Refrain from vandalising the article. Thank you. Shink77 (talk) 21:47, 7 July 2025 (UTC)
- The sources are all about "Main Hoon Balatkari", though, aren't they?
- Your preferred version of the paragraph starts by referring to
the lyrics to some of his songs, which depict supposed misogyny caused controversy
which is sourced to a Times of India column about the "Main Hoon Balatkari" song, a song about rape which is more than just "supposed misogyny". The column says nothing about the content of his other songs, it's just about this one song. - The paragraph ends with
Chandigarh High Court dismissed cases against Singh over such song.
and cites a Times of India article which only covers the "Main Hoon Balatkari" verdict. - If you want to write about other controversies and legal cases, you're welcome to add that content, but the current version of the paragraph just doesn't match the cited sources. Belbury (talk) 22:03, 7 July 2025 (UTC)
- Another source has been added your highness which mentions the overall problems some people were having regarding Mr. Singh's lyrics such as from the tracks of "Brown Rang" and "Dope Shope" now as you admitted on my talk page that you weren't aware as you can't see the video i.e. The Lallantop Interview because of language barrier I would highly suggest you to edit on a subject matter which you yourself are aware regarding and are confident editing about. Refrain from vandalising the article. Thank you. Shink77 (talk) 22:25, 7 July 2025 (UTC)
- It's still the case that the article doesn't match the sources being cited.
- The sources say that a specific song about glorifying rape ("Main Hoon Balatkari") was attributed to Singh, that he denied writing the lyrics to it, and a court later found that there was no proof he had personally recorded the song.
- Your paragraph written from these sources says that Singh's lyrics only generally depict "supposed misogyny", that his lyrics are generally controversial, that he denies writing "such type of offensive lyrics" and that the court dismissed the case "over such song". I am not sure what you're trying to express with the ungrammatical singular "such" in these sentences, but whether you meant "such songs/types" or "such a song/type", the source in both cases is about one specific song and whether he wrote it.
- I'm sure Singh has other controversial songs. The issue is that the content of the paragraph does not match the cited sources. Belbury (talk) 07:58, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
- If you think the article shouldn't mention the "Main Hoon Balatkari" controversy at all, and should just say that some of Singh's songs are generally controversial for "supposed misogynism", there's already a paragraph about this later in the section (
His work has been criticised as being vulgar, promoting misogyny
). - Is your view that it would be, as you say, "really unfair and would violate the neutrality of this article" to mention the Main Hoon Balatkari story and court case by name in this biography? Belbury (talk) 18:32, 3 August 2025 (UTC)
- There literally are 4 sources 4 you seem to be focusing on one singular source and and trying to create a narrative around one topic while suppressing the other 3 sources which explain the situation pretty well. I would request you to refer that section and see for yourself. Several sources have been stated regarding allegedly having multiple controversial songs and not just one. Why are you pinning towards and targeting only one specific track whereas the statement and the source mention several? You don't seem neutral enough. Shink77 (talk) 12:21, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
Assessment and editorial issues
editI have dropped the assessment to C-class. This article is extremely over-written and contains a steady stream of WP:PROMO, WP:PEACOCK, poor organization (what's with the WP:CSECTION at the bottom?), and poor prose throughout. I can't even tell which of his albums or singles have actually charted on national charts, and, if they have charted, which charts -- everything is described as a blockbuster, chartbuster or a chart topper. -- Ssilvers (talk) 18:20, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Ssilvers:, It could possibly be WP:LLM as most of the sources I check do NOT add up to the content that is being posted. Hate to go this far back but restoring to the most stable version prior to large additions by Shink77 (pining in hopes of explanation on the sourcing, FANCRUFT, and promotional content). Even in May 2025 they were adding unsourced content and sources for existing content that did not support what was on the page. Also think the rest of the unsourced content needs removed if it cannot be sourced rather quickly. I realize there is WP:NODEADLINE but we are dealing with a WP:BLP. --CNMall41 (talk) 19:53, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- The standard of writing doesn't seem high enough for an LLM.
- Per the discussion in the #Main Hoon Balatkari section above and this removal of a "failed verification" template on a medical condition, it seems like Shink77 just isn't that interested in whether the cited sources support specific statements made in the text. Belbury (talk) 08:55, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
- Lmao, I would request you to refer that section and see for yourself. Several sources have been stated regarding allegedly having multiple controversial songs and not just one. Why are you pinning towards and targeting only one specific track whereas the statement and the source mention several? You don't seem neutral enough. Shink77 (talk) 12:07, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @CNMall41, how about we edit reference wise and not bombard the entire article. As I said earlier, tone and Grammar correction are welcomed but going as far as even removing photos, xd bro come on I guess we are better than this. Also, please stop removing sources such as Interview which are spoken in Hindi or Punjabi. Better is to only remove ones you can verify or are familiar with. If you are an English speaking person like how @Belbury is I would highly request not to remove the reliable sources which are not in your native language but rather in mine. Thank you. Happy editing. Shink77 (talk) 12:18, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Shink77: In response to this thread you rolled back all of CnMall41's edits including their line-by-line manual assessments where content didn't match sources. When I restored their edits you reverted them again as "vandalism". What is your objection to these alterations?
- I'd agree with CnMall41 that the article has too many images in the Career section. Some of these are very similar to each other, and a lot have Bollywood Hungama watermarks. They could stand to be reduced. Belbury (talk) 13:16, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
- The reason behind revertion as I stated earlier is that 'It's better to edit sections of the article regarding tone and grammatical errors' rather than bombarding the entire article if you get what I'm trying to convey. Also there's no need to remove Bollywood Hungama images, they are allowed to be used in Wikipedia articles. Articles of various Bollywood actors such as Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan etc. and Indian music industry musicians also use them as Bollywood Hungama allows it's pictures to be used only if the users give them appropriate credit and attach link to the image source to it. Shink77 (talk) 06:20, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- Usage of Blockbuster, chartbuster terms aren't constituted to mean at face value i.e. your understanding and meaning of chartbuster could be Billboard charts which isn't what was meant. Singh's songs in past have charted on YouTube prior to the streaming era and now do on platforms such as Spotify. Again, Grammar and tone correction are welcomed but reverting an entire article back to a very old version doesn't seem to be the right move. Shink77 (talk) 12:15, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
- WP:CIR and WP:CIVIL are the first two links I would recommend to you. I am returning the page to the most stable as your edits have once again caused issues. I removed this source as it is unreliable. You reintroduced it as well as all the fakerefs. I originally thought you were using WP:LLM but based on this response it is getting harder to WP:AGF that this is just an accident. If you want to introduce content that is improperly sourced, you will need to seek consensus to do so. Note your prior warnings on your talk page for edit warring and your block in May for adding unsourced information.--CNMall41 (talk) 16:01, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
- Being a contentious topic, I am not allowed to revert you more than once. So, if you reinstate the content without discussion and consensus, it will need to be taken to WP:ANI. --CNMall41 (talk) 16:03, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
- Shink77 reinstated the content again, and has subsequently been indefinitely blocked for edit warring and making personal attacks.
- I've removed their content. Belbury (talk) 15:17, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- As I said 'It's better to edit sections of the article regarding tone and grammatical errors' rather than bombarding the entire article' Edit section wise instead. Why are you being such a pain and just bombarding the entire article instead editing it step by step. Are you even right in the head or are you hired by someone to attack this page? Baffles me to see such an impatient fellow editor. Again as I said edit section wise, Grammatical and tone correction are most welcomed. Also you didn't asnwer my previous question, are you an English man or a foreigner per se, if so, please do not remove Hindi and Punjabi language sourced news articles as you seem to be doing. Start being a bit more clear. Thank you. Happy Editing. Shink77 (talk) 06:24, 27 August 2025 (UTC)

Bombardment of the entire page by editors who don't seem to be understanding Hindi, Punjabi languages removing the news articles, interview sources stated in these while also removing entire works put in the page instead of editing section wise and going step-by-step.
editIt's been pretty frequent that people who "do not understand Punjabi or Hindi languages" are editing the page of Yo Yo Honey Singh who has articles and sources regarding him/ his life stated in his native languages and are being bombarded by people such as @Belbury who have clearly in the past stated that they don't seem to be understanding a source as it's stated in a language which they aren't familiar with nor which they speak i.e. Hindi and Punjabi. Also instead of section wise editing which is supposed to be the best manner in order to edit and article rather destroy works, creation of fellow editors, editors such as @CNMall41 are being impatient and hard to deal with and are completely removing the legit news articles, sources stated which are verified by esteemed news portals and in many cases stated by Singh himself and then reported by the sources, these two users have time and time again failed to comply with section wise editing and are in short, bombarding the entire article crazy to think how impatient and out of touch one can be to edit articles regarding a subject, language, region, news articles, sources which they themselves are not familiar with. I would request any higher Wikipedia official/editor, to block the above mentioned users who are bombarding or nuking the entire articles instead of editing section wise step-by-step and editing those articles which they themselves are aware of regarding the languages, how can one edit an article when they themselves aren't aware regarding the languages spoken in interviews stated or written in source or stated, while correcting tone and grammatical errors which I have time and time again stated are most welcomed. Shink77 (talk) 06:42, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
Singles
editIn an attempt to clean up the page, I have moved the "singles" section of the discography below. There are a total of four sources for the approximate 100 songs listed. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate list of information and we are also not Discogs. If a single is worthy of inclusion, there should be secondary reliable sources to support. Leaving things below for those who want to reintroduce any singles that may be worthy of inclusion. CNMall41 (talk) 17:12, 17 September 2025 (UTC)
