- If you read the article it should be self-evident that people in his time did indeed care. Dillemic (talk) 01:24, 5 July 2025 (UTC)
memorial
editThere is a sort-of memorial to Shockley in San Antonio Shopping Center. Well, maybe more a memorial to Shockley Semiconductor Laboratory. It is actually in the shape of atoms in a silicon crystal. Should the be mentioned here? Or maybe somewhere else? Gah4 (talk) 07:47, 1 March 2025 (UTC)

Bad math
editIn describing his 1982 election run, the article says "receiving 8,308 votes and 0.37% of the vote." Presumably Shockley did not get 8,308 votes plus another 0.37% of the votes. The sentence should clarify that 8,308 votes comprised 0.37% of votes cast. Ksbooth (talk) 05:02, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
- It's understandable as is, but you might consider simply replacing the "and" with either "or" or ",". Tarl N. (discuss) 05:52, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
It seems to me that only the percentage is meaningful. I would simply remove the "8,308 votes". TheScotch (talk) 03:11, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
