"A" is undefined
editIn the introduction, the sentence "The Lorentz force then bends the electron trajectories with the result that upward-moving-ev x B electrons congregate at B and downward-moving ones at A." refers to undefined quantity A. Is it some vector potential or some amplitude of the electric field, as defined in equations below ? It is confusing.
Start the article with a simple explanation
editIt would be great if someone could change the first few sentences to make them explain in simple terms what the instability actually is. Instead the article starts by only explaining, in rather murky terms, various ways of understanding the conditions under which the instability may occur. John Baez (talk) 16:24, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
