Why did so many changes occur to the WWF as Bill Clinton became U.S. President?

edit

That is a question I would like to know the answer to. Though not directly referencing the 1990s WWF by name, there is a reliable source noting how "dramatic cultural changes" were occurring in the United States as he became president. The then-WWF was most certainly no exception to those "dramatic cultural changes." WWE Raw even debuted only nine days before his first presidential inauguration on January 11, 1993.MyGosh789 (talk) 01:09, 8 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

The cultural changes are a little bit of a complex subject, but it has a lot more to just do with what counterculture was like the 1990s. But to say Clinton changed professional wrestling is misleading, as correlation does not equal causation. One big reason the WWE product changed so much during the Clinton administration is because WWE was competing with WCW, which overtook the polls in the late 1990s before WWE took them back in 1999 and WCW went out of business in 2001, the end of Clinton's administration. So in other words, it's a coincidence on top of a coincidence. The product was changing anyway, as were the people.
With all of this said, please consult WP:NOTFORUM because I believe you are in direct violation. MountainJew6150 (talk) 20:41, 19 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Founded in 1980?

edit

The date founded is incorrect. WWE was founded in 1963 as WWWF or 1953 as Capital Wrestling. Please update. Thank you. ~2026-10283-09 (talk) 03:49, 15 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

1980 is when Vince and Linda McMahon incorporated Titan Sports, Inc, the corporate entity that is now World Wrestling Entertainment LLC. The date is correct from a legal perspective. oknazevad (talk) 17:10, 20 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I understand but Vince McMahon acquired WWWF through Titan Sports. The WWWF already existed as a company. WWE acquired AAA that doesn't mean AAA was founded in 2025. Can this at least show all three dates under founded? 1953 as CWC, 1963 as WWWF and 1980 as Titan Sports? I would be fine with that. Thanks for the reply. ~2026-11680-19 (talk) 12:29, 21 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
