Fair use rationale for Image:Wlae2007.gif

edit

Image:Wlae2007.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Time to get back in the swing of things! IAWW (talk) 08:08, 8 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

@It is a wonderful world That should do it. Something you should know: I will be out June 10–19 and probably not responding to most Wikipedia-related messages. You can either leave me with a pile of reviews to return to at home or hold off until then. Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 02:04, 9 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Okay! I'm happy with your improvements and am passing now. IAWW (talk) 09:37, 9 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

its transmitter is located on Paris Road/Highway 47: Not in the article body anywhere

The archdiocese opted to reinvest in its schools and sought a buyer for WLAE: I think add a time indicator to this sentence, to make it clear time has passed since they built it.

The station broadcasts weekly and monthly programming on local issues as well as documentaries and state programs from Louisiana Public Broadcasting and a daily Catholic Mass: Punctuate for readability

Construction and archdiocesan ownership

edit

As construction progressed on WLAE, its emergence in the market threatened to upset the balance of power among public television stations: I don't think this is supported by the source. The source discusses the introduction of WLAE being a possible complication to a separate dispute, which is not as strong as what has been included in the article here.

  • Reworded

This contract served as the primary source of state funding for WYES: The source says that WYES was "mostly privately financed", which is the opposite of what this says? Apologies if I'm just being thick here.

  • This was the exception to the rule. It was basically the main way the state provided any financial support to WYES.

it lost it because its signal was not on cable in: How long had past before they lost the contract? (Assuming "it" refers to the contract)

  • One year, clarified

In spite of this decision: The previous sentence doesn't make it seem like a "decision". I read it as though they were forced to give up the contract due to lack of coverage.

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: Yes
  • Interesting: Yes
  • Other problems: Yes
QPQ: Done.
Overall: @Sammi Brie: Upgraded to GA status the day before the DYK was made. QPQ is met through a double DYK. An overview of the article shows no problems and the hook is pretty interesting. The hook is found within the article. Jon698 (talk) 03:53, 13 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
