Comments (6/9/26)
editI apologize for the delay in getting started. Having reviewed one of your TV station articles before, I already know that it's going to be well-written and well-researched.
- Lead
- No issues with the prose.
- As an independent station and UPN affiliate
- "At one point, the station held a wooden nickel contest that awarded prizes to people who received matching sets of WXAO wooden nickels." Wait, I'm confused. Which station held a contest, and what was the significance of it?
- Decided this was a tangent too far. The point being that 47 was cheap and at a perpetual disadvantage to 30.
- "with The 700 Club moving into the 10 p.m. hour" --> should be "moving to..."
- "Feltner moved WNFT from its original studios on University Boulevard to facilities in the mezzanine level" --> that should be "on the mezzanine level"
- "Also in August, the Alabama station joined its Florida sisters in bankruptcy." --> recommend rewording as "In August, the Alabama station also joined..."
- "(in 1995, MCA would win a $9 million judgment upheld in 1997) --> "in 1995, MCA won a $9 million..."
- "RDS Broadcasting from the outset intended to reach a joint sales agreement with Clear Channel Television" --> recommend rewording as "From the outset, RDS Broadcasting intended..."
- "Under general manager Susan Adams Loyd, who arrived at the station in 2000..." --> should be "who had arrived..."
- Made a different change here.
- "Unusually for a UPN affiliate" --> should be "Unusual for a UPN affiliate"
- Becoming a CBS affiliate
- "After the switch, ratings for CBS programs remained unchanged, unlike in prior affiliation switches." --> recommend shuffling around the phrasing: "Unlike in prior affiliation switches, ratings for CBS programs remained unchanged after the switch."
- "In 2007, the station debuted a 5 p.m. newscast." --> This sentence feels out of place, since the rest of the paragraph deals with Jaguars football games.
- Did everything including this, which I bumped one paragraph up to be in more of a topical order and less straight chronological. @Bgsu98: That should do it. Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 21:42, 9 June 2026 (UTC)

User:Sammi Brie: There is only the one small issue with source no. 50, which does not identify the specific date that the purchase was approved. I will go ahead and pass this GA on the assumption that you will correct this (removing the day is probably sufficient, as it's clear it took place in August 1995.
