I have personal and ancestral connections to Umunze as it's my home town. Between 13 and 14 July 2026, I improved this article by reorganising sections, correcting the stale current-ruler designation (would need further update if we can get proper sourcing/citations), preserving and labelling local oral traditions, and adding citations for administration, the traditional institution, education, language, cultural heritage and notable people. I reviewed the sources and wording. I used some AI tools to help organise research, assess sources and format citations, consistent with the disclosure on my user page. Claims about HRH Igwe Promise Eze's death or succession were not added because I did not find sufficiently strong published confirmation.
