Evaluation

A review of To All the Boys (franchise)
editI chose this article to evaluate because I am a big fan of this movie franchise and want to make sure it's portrayed, explained and written about with facts and solid information.
- I believe that the article is understandable, however there are a few suggestions (no need but please take into consideration) I would like to give:
The Lead
edit- In the overview the first sentence is wordy and could possibly be reworded/restructured. "To All the Boys is a franchise consisting of American teenage romance installments, including three feature films and a spin-off television series, based on the titular trilogy of novels written by Jenny Han." when mentioning the three feature films and the spin-off, they should be mentioned and linked so that the reader can have access to all of them.
- I would suggest mentioning the films and series then stating them in brackets - eg. "The franchise consists of three feature films (To All The Boys I Loved Before; To All The Boys I Loved Before, P.S I Still Love You; To All The Boys I Loved Before, Always And Forever) and a spin-off television series (XO Kitty), based on the trilogy of novels, written by Jenny Han"
- The lead has a good amount of information however the structure of it is a bit odd, the paragraphs are fragmented and could be restructured. The explanation that it is Netflix series could be written in the first paragraph as just a mention.
Content
editThe overall content of the article is slightly limited.
- The origin includes very minimal information on the books. It gives a brief overview of when and by who they were written by. Them being the base for the films makes them very important, therefore more information should be provided. They were best sellers so I'd suggest adding information from interviews or author notes.
- The part for each individual movie also lacks information, there are many articles and reviews written on these movies so it upsets me seeing such little content on them.
Tone and Balance
editThe tone and balance of the article are good, I wouldn't change anything there.
Sources and References
editThe sources referenced all work, which is good. I'd still add what I wrote in the lead section though.
- In the section where the characters and cast are listed I would source where the indicators and their meanings were found.
- There are also some links on words like "Netflix" and "love" which link to the exact meaning or explanation of what they are. I suggest removing them as they are somewhat unnecessary.
Organization, writing quality, images and media
editThe writing quality is good, the article is simple and easy to read however it still lacks a lot of information that would enrich the content.
- I would add a few pictures, other than the logo of the movies if there are any available that wouldn't be copyrighted. Maybe pictures of Lana and Noah together during the filming of the series or of Jenny Han etc.
- The tables are good, they just seem to take up a lot of space and I would also cite the source where the cast list was found.
- The organization of the text itself and the paragraphs could be squeezed together a bit and expanded.
- In terms of the individual paragraphs for each of the three films, I would add a lot more information on them. From what I read there is only a brief overview of the cast, timeline and production. I suggest adding more information on the film itself. The reason why Netflix chose to create the movies, the emotional meaning behind Jenny Hans writing, the differences in the movies and books, etc. There are a lot of reviews, there's a table of rotten tomatoes for each film in the article itself so to add onto that, a description could also be useful before or after the table. This would give readers more description on the watchers/critiques perspective.
Overall this article has some improvements necessary as it is rated in the C-class, however it is not bad.
