Release Date?
editHas this been released in Europe yet? It doesn't seem to be available. Stub Mandrel (talk) 21:37, 21 January 2017 (UTC)
Since it's a tour-only album, it really doesn't have a release date in Europe other than the date that the tour stopped in Europe. SlimDaddy (talk) 05:25, 28 October 2017 (UTC)SlimDaddy
LP?
editThis is listed as an "EP", yet its running-time is 55:09. Sources don't seem to call it an EP either. Joefromrandb (talk) 09:27, 8 August 2017 (UTC)
- I agree: this is simply too long for an EP. It is more like a LP. 83.27.133.88 (talk) 22:46, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
- It's four tracks at under 25 minutes. That's shorter than most LPs; even counting older releases it's ten minutes shorter than Sabbath's shortest album. The four live tracks, while increasing the total run time to 55 minutes, seemingly aren't being counted as part of the "main" release, similarly to how an album with a disc 2 containing live tracks would probably count that as a bonus CD and not part of the main album. It's a weird release, but I'm not sure what else to call it. Ringtail Raider (talk) 23:05, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
- I agree that 25 minutes for 4 studio tracks would made it an EP. But the "problem" is that there are 4 additional live tracks lasting for like 30 minutes.
- This some strange kind of a release, à la a studio/live hybrid album, but an album. It is something like rolling back the years to Cream's Wheels of Fire and Goodbye. It is really hard to classify those two.
- But I guess this is just a case with some releases, like Dream Theater's A Change of Seaasons or Marilyn Manson's Smells Like Children: both 50+ minutes long and yet classified as EPs, just because they say so. ~2025-31020-65 (talk) 17:45, 4 November 2025 (UTC)

Page title
editThe page title shouldn't just be "The End (EP)". For one, it's to long to be an EP. And also, "(EP)" isn't descriptive enough and should at least be titled "Black Sabbath EP". SlimDaddy (talk) 05:25, 28 October 2017 (UTC) SlimDaddy
- @SlimDaddy:@Sabbatino: Yes, it should be. This is unnecessary disambiguation as per WP:NCMDAB; there isn't another article with an EP called 'The End', so it is unnecessary to disambiguate by adding 'Black Sabbath EP'. CelestialWeevil (talk) 05:32, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
- @CelestialWeevil: I moved the page to its current namespace after some user moved it to "The End (Black Sabbath album)" without any discussion. This is not an album and was never marked as such by the band. They do not even list it on their website. I also have not seen anything in the news media (articles, reviews, etc.) that would label it as a studio album. However, the same could be said about it being an EP, because only reviews mark this recording as such. In my opinion, this is either an EP or a compilation, but it is not an album as someone tried to indicate. – Sabbatino (talk) 09:19, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Sabbatino: Ah, I see. I was looking for some more references, but it's tough to search for this release since the live album / concert movie has the same title. I think EP is the closest description, and I think moving it to 'The End (EP)' is the way to go. At least until someone finds a definitive source. CelestialWeevil (talk) 15:37, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
