Average time 10 hours 46 minutes

This is a mistake. Obviously, if the average speed is is 7 mph, then in 11 hours, the horses will have traveled only 77 miles. I looked at the results .XLSX file, and the finishing TIME (i.e. on the clock) is at 10:40 PM, i.e. about 14-15 hours traveling time after subtracting rest times, which is indeed about 7 MPH. Winning times have been in about 10 -12 hours. A horse trots at 8 mph and they gallop certain sections. Montanabw(talk) 04:20, 8 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
