In case anybody wonders, it really is Lycosa tarentula, not tarantula. The reason goes back to the ancient names for the city and their two spellings. One is Tarentum. P0M 04:35, 17 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

"Tarentula" is the old spelling. it's been changed to "Tarantula" which is the standard now. ~2026-14336-52 (talk) 00:47, 19 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
