Fair use rationale for Image:Chiefslogo.png

Image:Chiefslogo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:32, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Needs work

Let me get straight, they were affiliated with the Jays for 30 years - FAR longer than with any other team in their entire history - and that period of time is mentioned in one tiny sentence in the whole article? Jays section needs to be expanded.

Also, the attendance section is a mess. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.17.200.66 (talk) 23:44, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

Prior to 1934?

If the Syracuse Chiefs were established in 1934, why (and for whom) are stats prior to that date included in this article? Are they for other, predecessor Syracuse baseball teams (major & minor)? Not clear. Would suggest spinning the stats off to a separate article (History of baseball in Syracuse?) and removing them from this article. Other suggestions? Thanks, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 00:25, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

Done, with the hope that sometime, someone will create the new, suggested article. Thanks, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 18:15, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

I removed the following table because it does not directly relate to the subject of this article. Perhaps if/ when someone creates a History of baseball in Syracuse article, it can be included there. Sincerely, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 18:13, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

Complete overhaul of table

Right now, I am in the process of giving the yearly results a makeover. I am using the List of New York Yankees seasons page as a reference for the table, and am confirming all the yearly results through Baseball-Reference.com.
Notable changes include:

  • Instead of just 'Playoff Wins', I am including the series results as almost every other team on wikipedia has.
  • The season attendance section is also removed as there is already a section for that.
  • I also have a section for the total of all seasons in the works.

For a preview, check it out here.Salisbury Steak (complaint dept. - contribs) 19:49, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

Remove the refimprove template

I vote (assuming I have a vote to cast) for the removal of the refimprove template. The article now has 21 references, whereas it had only 3 at the time the template was added. However, I'll leave that determination for someone who has contributed more to the article than I have. Waz8:T-C-E 01:27, 22 March 2016 (UTC)

Syracuse Baseball Wall of Fame

Should the Syracuse Baseball Wall of Fame section be split off to a separate article? While created by the Syracuse Chiefs organization, I wonder if it is sufficiently closely linked to the subject of this article to be included here, or would be better off as a standalone article. As a further consideration, it's not clear that the present management is continuing the practice. Thanks for sharing your opinion/ rationale for keeping (or spinning off) the section here. DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 10:21, 3 May 2016 (UTC)

I'd give it its own article since it includes other Syracuse baseball people, not just those associated with the Chiefs/SkyChiefs. The separate article could provide more information about each inductee, like baseball positions/roles, teams, and years active. I would also link to it from this page either in a summary section or as a see also. NatureBoyMD (talk) 16:02, 3 May 2016 (UTC)
Being bold...  Done. Now spun off to separate article. Please make additional contributions there to further develop that article. Thanks, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 10:07, 5 May 2016 (UTC)
