January incident
editThe incident on 5 January 2026 is being added repeatedly - however, it didn't result in any injuries, deaths or procedure changes (at least none as of yet). As such, it fails the guideline at WP:AIRCRASH which is used to determine the notability of such incidents. Danners430 tweaks made 10:52, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
- Courtesty pinging @Lawrence ruiz - by the way, per WP:BRD this discussion should have been started by yourself when it was reverted the first time, not reverting again. Danners430 tweaks made 10:53, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
- @User talk:Danners430, Cebu-Pacific also had two nose gear incidents that did not result in any injuries or fatalities, but have been included in its list of accidents and incidents.Lawrence Ruiz 11:27, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
- I can't speak for other articles, especially articles that I don't necessarily have on my watchlist or have been involved with. I would argue the same there though - if they fail AIRCRASH, then they aren't really notable enough.
- The reason it's like this is simple - minor or mid-level accidents happen very frequently in aviation, which means they start to creep into WP:NOTNEWS territory. Wikipedia is meant to be a summary of the most notable events, so if the airline had a major accident it would be included… but tyres bursting or gear collapses aren't really that major.
