Harrison's shares in Northern Songs, Ltd.

edit

As I understand it, George Harrison divested himself of all shares in Northern Songs shortly after John's and Paul's publishing company went public: thereby becoming the first—and maybe only—person to ever conclude that there was no money to be made from the musical compositions of John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

(Northern Songs, Ltd. was dissolved in 1995 in a merger with Sony/ATV. The songs that comprised the Northern Songs Catalogue, last time I checked, were valued at £2,000,000,000. That's a "2" in front of nine zeros: no mistake there.

George was no financial genius.) 107.144.134.38 (talk) 19:59, 28 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
