edit

I have a conflict of interest because I am working on behalf of Spacecom. I am requesting that the company logo in the infobox be updated to the current official logo.

The current logo can be found here: https://amos-spacecom.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Spacecom.png

This request is for identification of the company in its Wikipedia article only. I understand that because I have a COI, I should not make the change directly. Could an independent editor please review and update the logo if appropriate?

I've added {{edit COI}} to the top of your request. That will add this page to the list of conflict of interest edit requests so that an independent editor will get to this eventually. (Feel free to remove it if you don't want that for some reason.) For more details, see Wikipedia:Edit requests.
To make it easier for the editor who deals with this request, you might want to upload the logo to Wikipedia and then provide a link here to the uploaded image. To do that, you can use the File upload wizard or the Files for upload wizard. See Wikipedia:Uploading images for more details. Cadddr (talk) 17:52, 10 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hi, Caddr.
The system won't let me upload the logo. It's not a free image; it's not in the public domain. It's a company logo.
How else can I upload it?

I'm not sure; I don't actually know that much about image uploads on Wikipedia. You might want to ask at the Teahouse. Cadddr (talk) 14:35, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
OK, thanks. How long does it take for an independent editor to review a request? Honestly, Teahouse looks very confusing. And do I have to say I have a COI each time I ask a question? Or, does it carry through with the request?
Ashedit4pw (talk) 15:44, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
If the Teahouse looks confusing, another option would be to start a new discussion on your talk page and put {{help me}} at the top of the description. Then someone will come to your talk page and answer your question.
If you're asking how long it takes for a COI edit request to be handled, I think it usually takes quite a while, often months. If you're asking how long it'll take before someone answers a question at the Teahouse or on your talk page when you use {{help me}}, my impression is that it's usually pretty fast, probably within a few days.
As for the COI, just to be safe, I'd probably briefly mention it when you ask questions. (You can just say something like "I'm working for Spacecom and have disclosed that on my user page.") Thank you for being so transparent about that, by the way. It's really appreciated. Cadddr (talk) 16:05, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Also, if you manage to successfully upload the image, make sure to reply here and provide the link to the uploaded image. That'll make it super easy for whoever ends up reviewing your request. (Actually, I'll probably just do it myself once you've uploaded the image.) Cadddr (talk) 16:17, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I think they should rename the COI as "The Wikipedia Scarlet Letter" because that's how it feels to keep having to mention each time that I have to work for a living. LOL! (And if you haven't read the book, do it. It's great!)
Seriously, thanks for all your help.
I'm working for Spacecom and have disclosed that on my user page.

Lol, I did read that book in high school. Just so you know, I don't think you're technically required to disclose every time you ask a question related to your COI. I'm mostly recommending it because it'll help other editors realize quickly that you're here in good faith and not trying to hide anything. Also, in case this wasn't clear, there's definitely no need to disclose anything when editing or discussing articles unrelated to your COI.
I feel a little bad when well-meaning editors like you feel burdened by Wikipedia's COI guidelines. But a huge proportion of people who edit pages about the company they work for will try to sneakily do things like removing anything that sounds negative about the company. I quite often see people trying to turn the page about their company into basically an advertisement. That's why a lot of Wikipedians are somewhat suspicious by default of paid editors. Got it. Thanks.
