page Name
editI am not an expert on the specifics of how Canadian legislation pages are titled, but I think you are more informed...

The original 1947 saskatchewan legislation refers to the Saskatchewan Bill of Rights with the title "Saskatchewan Bill of Rights Act, 1947".
Not sure if it's worth renaming this page specifically.
I have a hard time telling when to match the title rules that existing pages seem to have followed versus when to assume they're wrong. Landpin (talk) 18:24, 8 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for the inquiry. It’s a good question, and one I wondered about when I created this page.
- Normally, with a statute I would go with the exact short title of the statute as the article name, so it would be “Saskatchewan Bill of Rights Act”, because thst was the name when first enacted.
- However, the Sask Bill of Rights Act was repealed, but the substantive content still exists, now as part 2 of the Saskatchewan Human Rights Code. It still gets referred to as the Sask Bill of Rights.
- Technically, it’s no longer a separate statute, but because of its legal and historical significance, it gets referred to in that way. Since it still is a law, I went with the current title for the article.
- If you want to start a discussion here, I would appreciate broader input, possibly with a note on the Canadian discussion board page, asking for comment. I don’t think it needs a formal RfC? Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 22:46, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
- One way to deal with it may be to add an infobox for the Sask Human rights Code, to show that the Bill of Rights is Part 2 of the Code, and keep the infobox for the original Bill of Rights Act, to show its origins? Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 22:55, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
- Plus rework the lead paragraph? To show the history better? Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 22:58, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
- My thinking was
- Saskatchewan Bill of Rights: disambiguation page containing two entries, one to the original act, one to the Saskatchewan Human Rights Code, 2018 page.
- Saskatchewan Bill of Rights Act, 1947: the current Saskatchewan Bill of Rights page
- Saskatchewan Human Rights Code, 2018: as it is, no change
