Conflict of Interest Disclosure (BLP)
I am Sandra L. Mitchell, the subject of this article, and I am disclosing a conflict of interest in accordance with Wikipedia’s guidelines. I will not edit the article directly.
I am writing to request independent editor review of this biography under Wikipedia’s Biographies of Living Persons policy. As currently written, the article gives disproportionate weight to a leaked internal ethics report related to my time at UNRWA, while omitting or minimizing the outcome of that process and the broader context of my professional career.
Specifically:
• The UNRWA internal investigation did not result in findings against me. I completed my contract and subsequently did consulting work for the United Nations. This outcome is not clearly or proportionately reflected.
• My prior work as Director of Elections with UNAMI in Iraq (2006–2010)—including advising the Iraqi Election Commission on local and national elections in an active conflict, managing UN electoral assistance, and participating in the negotiation of electoral legislation—is underrepresented relative to its notability and public documentation.
• The article’s current emphasis risks violating UNDUE WEIGHT and BLP harm principles by foregrounding allegations rather than outcomes and sustained professional contributions.
I am not seeking promotion, only neutral, proportionate treatment consistent with reliable sourcing and policy. I would be grateful if editors could review the balance, sourcing, and framing of this article accordingly. I have placed a proposed neutral rewrite reflecting my career chronology in my user sandbox for editor reference.
