editThis is not the oldest existing church in Detroit. That would be the Basilica of St. Anne built in 1701 ~2026-34571-90 (talk) 20:28, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- This is not correct. The parish of Ste. Anne was established in 1701 and occupied a building in Fort Pontchartrain. That structure was replaced in 1708 and burned in 1714. There were later buildings until the great Detroit fire in 1805 which destroyed the Ste. Anne's which existed at that time. The current building was constructed in the mid-1880s.
