Category: Unix Shells?

Can you really call rsh a Unix Shell? It's not a Unix Shell in the sense that bash or zsh are Unix Shells, it's a communication tool for logging in to a machine or executing a command over a network. rsh doesn't interpret the commands you send, it simply sends them over and the command shell on the remote system interprets them...

As of this writing, the link is not recorded at the article. It was removed at Revision as of 20:43, 19 March 2012. I have not checked if it was not added and removed since 19 March 2012. Merge from Remote Process Execution

The article states "rexec has the same kind of functionality that rsh has : you can execute shell commands on a remote computer. The main difference is that rexecd authenticates by reading the username and password (unencrypted) from the socket." and nothing else. I think we can safely merge those two stubs together.
