I couldn't figure this out from the BBC's coverage and it's not clear from here either: when this says "projected across the whole country"/"national", does this mean the UK? Great Britain (given largely different parties in NI?) Or (in years like 2026 when only England had local elections - Scotland and Wales had devolved national elections) just England?
Another related question: is this projected from local votes only, or also from those devolved national elections?
A question related to both of these other two? Are SNP and Plaid and other parties specific only to the three smaller UK countries? part of the "other"? If so, how are these projected? (i.e.: If it's a UK or GB projection, and if the projection only uses local election results (i.e. only England results in 2026), how do they project Scotland and Wales-specific parties? And regardless of whether the projection includes devolved national elections, how do they project NI-specific parties given no kind of election happened in NI this year?
