Wrong name
editThis company was rebranded as Primo Brands. I do not know how to edit this page title, but it is not Primo Water anymore.

editCorrected slogan I am almost certain that the Cott slogan has always been 'It's Cott to be Good,' and not 'It's Cott to be Great' as was stated. I live in Montreal, where the slogan for years featured prominently.Marty55 05:28, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Re: Corrected slogan
editThe slogan as posted is incorrect. A quick search of the Internet turns up images showing the correct slogan, 'It's Cott to be good. I have corrected it once, but someone insists on having it the wrong way. Marty55 (talk) 20:02, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Suggestion
editSuggest full list of soft drink brands under the umbrella of Cott. RafaelRGarcia (talk) 17:38, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Perhaps someone can add in a big chunk of history that's missing, that being the Cott Beverage Corp. of New Haven, CT that predated the Canadian company. I can find isolated references back at least to the 1940s, but no real history. The Cotts were a New Haven family. I'm getting the impression that Canadian Cott originally existed to distribute New England Cott and eventually grew to take it over. Maybe someone can elaborate. Bluemuse (talk) 21:32, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
Bluemuse is likely correct. Certainly, Cott beverages were plentiful throughout New England long before the 70's date referenced in the article. They were a staple in my home in the early 50s and the store in which I worked as a young teen starting in 1960 sold them. Cott's Extra Dry Ginger Ale was famous for the incredible level of carbonation that leaped out at you once poured into the glass.Irish Melkite (talk) 21:09, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
In looking at the company website, I'm wondering if we are talking about 2 different companies entirely.Irish Melkite (talk) 21:12, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

Obsolete Article Following Completion of November 2024 Merger
editThis article needs to be updated with the November 8th completion of the merger with BlueTritan Brands, now renaming the company as Primo Brands. The Primo Water ticker symbol on the NYSE has also been delisted and is now PRMB, as of November 11, 2024. It's very wierd, but the merged company is not disclosing who is listed on their Board of Directors, even though, I believe, that is a legal requirement for pubicly listed corporations on the NYSE. Proposed edits: introductory paragraph corrections, and new merger section suggestion
edit| This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
I am submitting the following proposed edits via the talk page in accordance with WP:COI and WP:PAID guidelines. I have a paid professional connection to Primo Brands Corporation and am not editing the article directly. I would welcome review and any necessary amendments from uninvolved editors before changes are made to the article, as I've done recently for the BlueTriton Brands article.
All claims below are supported by cited, publicly verifiable primary sources.

1. Proposed correction: introductory paragraphThe current introductory paragraph contains four factual inaccuracies. I propose replacing it with corrected text as follows. Current text:
Proposed replacement:
Rationale for each change: (a) Predecessor names. The current text describes the company as "previously known as Cott Corporation." While Cott Corporation is a historic predecessor of Primo Water, the more recent and directly relevant predecessor names are Primo Water Corporation and BlueTriton Brands, whose merger in November 2024 created the current entity. Both names should appear in the introduction.[1] (b) "American-Canadian" → "North American". The company is known consistently as a North American business. The "American-Canadian" descriptor is not used by the company and does not reflect the combined entity's identity or geographic positioning.[2] (c) Single headquarters → dual headquarters. The current text states the company is headquartered in Tampa, Florida. The combined entity is dual-headquartered in Tampa, Florida and Stamford, Connecticut. This is a material factual error.[3] (d) Removal of Europe and Israel. Prior to the merger, Primo Water sold its international operations, including those in Europe and Israel, refocusing the business on North America. The combined Primo Brands entity does not operate in Europe or Israel. Retaining these geographies in the introduction is factually incorrect.[4] 2. Proposed addition: merger sectionI propose adding the following new section after the existing Acquisitions section, either as a standalone == Merger == section or by renaming Acquisitions to == Acquisitions and Merger == with this content appended. I defer to independent editors on which better fits the article's structure. Proposed text:
