Electrical displacement conductivity of soil
editThe depth of electromagnetic waves soil penetration is proportional to the displacement conductivity of this soil. ( skin effect ). This conductivity is principally due to the water saturation ( Archie... ). So , I propose a practical formula for this particular conductivity : Sigma = ( 2pi / Zo ) x square root of ( W x 81 x Tg delta )...in Siemens/m . Where W is the water saturation coefficient ( 0 to 1 ), 81 is the water permittivity , Zo is the vacuum impedance ( 377 ohms ) and Tg delta is the losses coefficient of water equal to the power 3 of (( 40 °C + temperature concerned ) divided by 110 °C )...Leveugel (talk) 08:45, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
