Pearl and Dean in Omniplex Cinemas Transition to DCM
editIn late 2025, Omniplex Cinemas completed a major overhaul of its on‑screen advertising strategy by replacing Pearl & Dean with Digital Cinema Media (DCM) across its Northern Ireland estate. The transition marked the end of Pearl & Dean’s long‑standing presence in Omniplex sites and aligned the chain with a more unified, digitally driven advertising model.
The move was part of Omniplex’s wider effort to streamline operations across its cross‑border network. DCM already supplied advertising to many Omniplex locations in the Republic of Ireland, and extending that partnership into Northern Ireland created a single, consolidated advertising provider for the entire group. This shift reduced fragmentation, simplified scheduling, and allowed Omniplex to deliver a more consistent pre‑show experience regardless of region.
DCM’s takeover also reflected a broader modernisation strategy within Omniplex. DCM’s infrastructure is built around centralised digital delivery, offering faster campaign turnaround, improved synchronisation with trailers, and greater flexibility for national and regional advertisers. By contrast, Pearl & Dean’s model—while iconic and culturally beloved—was less aligned with the fully digital workflow Omniplex had been adopting through its refurbishment programme.
Commercially, the switch opened the door to larger UK‑wide advertising campaigns, stronger brand partnerships, and more competitive revenue opportunities. DCM’s portfolio includes major chains such as Odeon, Vue, and Cineworld, giving advertisers a unified route into the majority of UK screens. By joining that network, Omniplex positioned itself within a broader national advertising ecosystem. JonathanMcEvoy123 (talk) 15:31, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
