Earlier PPC systems (1987–1990)

Hi everyone, I noticed that almost all articles on pay‑per‑click refer to 1996 as the origin of the PPC advertising model. For historical accuracy, it may be useful to mention that PPC‑like systems existed earlier. In Germany, a documented system was developed between 1987 and 1990 that implemented “advertising on demand” billing, user‑controlled ad changes, and usage statistics.
