General: Article is new enough and long enough

Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation

Image eligibility:

QPQ: Done.

Overall: @Mb2437:, I can't see the image your proposing to go with this hook used in the article and it doesn't look like it's been cropped from anything in the article. If you either edit the article to include the image or you change the image to something in use in the article, I will approve this. Personally I like the image in use in the infobox, but I will leave the choice to you. This is just a review on ALT0, which I think is the most interesting. Replaced the image with one used in the article and more relevant to ALT0. MB2437 09:38, 30 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
approved for ALT0. If anyone wants an approval for another hook, ping me and I'll do an assessment. However I think ALT0 is the best. Suggest a cropped version of the image if this is chosen for the image hooks. TarnishedPathtalk 11:56, 31 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
A general comment I forgot to add is that by 7 December, pending the remaining results of the current season, the approved hook could change to "... that in 2025, Oscar Piastri became the first Australian to win the Formula One World Drivers' Championship since 1980?" MB2437 15:45, 4 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Mb2437: if the hook hasn't made its way onto the front page by then ping me after you've updated the article and I'll review. TarnishedPathtalk 08:06, 19 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

"Not to be confused with Oscar Pistorius"

edit

Is there a realistic reason why this is at the top of the page? I don't really see how these two could get confused with one another, and the last names don't really sound alike. AstralNomad (talk) 23:09, 8 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Maybe this made sense in the beginning of his career somehow, but I agree that it’s totally unnecessary now. I support removing it. ContextCreator (talk) 23:16, 8 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Theres has been some cases of confusion between the two individuals, although I don't know the current situation on the matter. Either way, it doesn't hurt anyone, so both options seem fine to me. IsaacMDB23 (talk) 10:20, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
The hatnote isn't meant for people who do know who Oscar Piastri is and purposefully came to the page. It's for those who end up here possibly by accident, so I don't have an issue with the hatnote. Per WP:DISTINGUISH: The hatnote is helpful when a significant number of readers might arrive at the page due to a simple typing error or misinterpretation. It's minimal and doesn't detract from the rest of the article.  Quinn (talk) 11:20, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
