Edit requests

edit

I am connected to Ogilvy and am making several connected edit requests per community guidelines.

1.Please remove Rory Sutherland's name from the infobox. His presence makes him appear to be a global officer, when he is Vice Chairman of just the UK office.  Done but not by me

2.Please delete Ogilvy Consulting from the subsidiary field. It's an internal division, not a subsidiary.  Done

3.Please replace the second paragraph in the lead with this updated information and source about the company's focus.  Done
The agency is part of the WPP Group global agency network. It provides services in five areas: growth and innovation; advertising, brand and content; public relations and influence; experience; and health.[1]

4.Please update our history with more recent information from the 2020s.  Done

2020s

edit

In June 2020, the company announced that Andy Main would be succeeding John Seifert as CEO.[2] He restructured Ogilvy's services under five core business units: Advertising, Experience, Public Relations, Health, and Consulting.[3]

Notable clients the agency acquired in 2021 included vodka brand Absolut (March),[4] car rental holding company Enterprise Holdings (April),[5] The New York Philharmonic (July),[6] TD Bank Group (September),[7] World of Hyatt (May),[8] US agency Federal Emergency Management Agency (October),[9] and Coca-Cola (November).[10][11]

In September 2022, Devika Bulchandani replaced Main as CEO.[12]

Notable clients the agency acquired in 2022 included automobile manufacturer Audi of America (May).[13]

5.Lastly, could you add this major award that we won in June, to the Awards section?  Done
In June 2022, Ogilvy was named Network of the Year by the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.[14]

I have a few requests for updates. Thank you for your help.
1) Ogilvy Government Relations spun off from Ogilvy and changed its name in the 2010s. I can't source the actual dates, so I left it general. Here's the text diff for the top of the Ogilvy (agency)#2010s section.

In 2010, the agency established OgilvyRED, a specialty strategic consultancy.

In 2010, the agency established OgilvyRED, a specialty strategic consultancy. Ogilvy Government Relations ceased being part of the Ogilvy network, and would later rebrand as OGR to avoid confusion.

Done I found a better source for the date and name change. The one above looks like a press release. STEMinfo (talk) 18:50, 4 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

2) In March 2024, Ogilvy consolidated several groups into an entity called Ogilvy One. Please add this to the end of the Ogilvy (agency)#2020s section, at the end of the history.

In March 2024, the agency announced that its customer experience and relationship services, which consisted of its customer acquisition, service design, continuous commerce, and CRM & loyalty groups, would be unified under the Ogilvy One brand, with Ogilvy veteran Kent Wertime serving as CEO.[1][2]

Done I allowed the press release because the wording says that the announcement was made by the company, and the other source didn't have all the details. You have to check your computer protection. It changed the URL to a urldefense.com link, which screws up the referencing syntax. You can see the red errors below. I also fixed the brackets in your request. 3) In June 2024, the agency was again named Network of the Year at Cannes. It goes in the second paragraph of the Ogilvy (agency)#Awards section. Here's the text diff.

In June 2022, Ogilvy was named Network of the Year by the [[Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity]].
