CDC does not mandate which conditions are nationally notifiable
editThe Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists actually determines which conditions are nationally notifiable to the CDC. Additionally, reporting these conditions to the CDC is voluntary by state and local health departments.
CDC does NOT mandate the list of notifiable conditions; it also does NOT mandate that these notifications be made to CDC. It is important to clarify because CDC does NOT have authority to mandate anything. ~2026-15413-30 (talk) 16:14, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
