(Transcluded from the merged Talk:List of New York state forests.) In addition to forests managed by NYS DEC, there are a number of other publicly managed forests in NY state, including those managed by the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Cornell University, various counties, cities and other administrative units.
