Former good articleNemesis Reborn was one of the Sports and recreation good articles, but it has been removed from the list. There are suggestions below for improving the article to meet the good article criteria. Once these issues have been addressed, the article can be renominated. Editors may also seek a reassessment of the decision if they believe there was a mistake.

Sub-Terra

edit

@GoneIn60 The part about Nemesis Sub-Terra reopening belongs in the retracking section because Merlin used Sub-Terra to build hype for Nemesis' reopening. WikiHmmmm... (talk) 22:53, 1 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

WikiHmmmm... – That's a good point. I went ahead and added a statement about the platform to that section. Feel free to further modify as needed. However, I kept a majority of the details regarding Sub-Terra in the section that was already covering it. I think the split works, but open to other ideas if that doesn't work for you. --GoneIn60 (talk) 23:21, 1 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Designer

edit

Hi all,

please correct me if I’m wrong but I thought John Wardley designed the layout and Werner merely consulted on the technical side? HiddenHerobrine (talk) 14:48, 3 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

RCDB only has Werner Stengel listed as the designer, as do other reliable sources. Wardley is typically responsible for creating basic concepts for the rides he has consulted or led production on, but he is not the engineer that designs the actual coaster layout. See Talk:Wicker Man (roller coaster)/Archive 1#Design for a similar discussion that covers this in more detail. --GoneIn60 (talk) 06:17, 6 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Move request

edit

Request for renaming the article under the ride's new name "Nemesis Reborn" Visokor (talk) 13:41, 9 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

I can't recall if we typically wait for an official press release, but yes, this needs to happen.
I assume the suggestion is Nemesis (roller coaster)Nemesis Reborn. --GoneIn60 (talk) 18:32, 9 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
A press release does already exist fortunately. https://www.altontowers.com/press/latest-news/alton-towers-resort-reveals-new-name-and-fearsome-new-creature-for-nemesis-rollercoaster/ DarkMetal485 (talk) 14:57, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

WikiHmmmm..., your recent edits to the page seem to oppose renaming this article Nemesis Reborn. You seem to be suggesting a new article should be created instead. That's not how other coaster articles that have undergone refurbishments and transformations were handled (examples: New Texas Giant and Rougarou). You did bring up some valid concerns about saying Nemesis Reborn has given over 50 million rides. Statements like that need to be more carefully phrased, but that's no reason to remove everything that you did. --GoneIn60 (talk) 04:09, 19 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

I read some of your concerns and made changes to the article in an effort to resolve them. If you need to make further changes, feel free to do so in the article or continue discussing here. Thank you. --GoneIn60 (talk) 04:48, 19 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I appreciate you efforts to fix the article, but I still believe that their should either be two seperate articles, or the article should be split into two segmants about the origional and reborn nemesis. WikiHmmmm... (talk) 15:21, 21 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
"... the article should be split into two segmants about the origional and reborn nemesis"
Yes, I think once all the changes have received detailed coverage in sources (not just promotional videos), the article can naturally progress in that direction. The goal would be to describe the ride experience and theming of each version in separate subsections. However, since both versions have a shared history and essentially the same ride layout, there's not much else you can really split in the article. -- GoneIn60 (talk) 23:19, 21 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
In the awards section we can keep it together just change it to Nemesis reborn for after 2022 WikiHmmmm... (talk) 10:52, 22 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Made an account to mention that the new name causes some confusion already mentioned when discussing historical events and statistics. I also see that you performed other edits in other pages that refer to the historical importance of the original ride, which further impacts the confusion. Now it looks like "Nemesis Reborn" was opened in 1994, but that is incorrect. There needs to be more distinction between the two rides. Lazynooblet (talk) 14:33, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Lazynooblet, the article certainly needs some attention and will always be a work in progress. Feel free to continue to make changes that you think will help alleviate that "confusion" and emphasize the distinction you're seeking. If other editors agree with the changes, they should stick over time, at least to some extent. Right now, the article essentially states that Nemesis Reborn was previously known as Nemesis and originally opened in 1994. It goes on to talk about the refurbishment and re-theming to Nemesis Reborn in 2024. While we can emphasize some of these details further, I don't find any of this particularly confusing. --GoneIn60 (talk) 15:01, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Designer section.

edit

Hello.

I wondered if it should say Designer(s) John Wardley (Creative Lead) & Werner Stengel (Layout) instead of just Werner Stengel. LukeK93 (talk) 14:57, 20 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

LukeK93: No, it should not. See the previous discussion above – § Designer --GoneIn60 (talk) 19:51, 20 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Article review

edit

It has been a while since this article has been reviewed, so I took a look and noticed uncited statements in the "Ride experience" and "Theme" sections. I also think the lead can be expanded upon to include all major aspects of the article. Should this go to WP:GAR? Z1720 (talk) 23:26, 15 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
