Pronunciation of name

edit

Can we include the pronunciation of a person's name in their Wikipedia page? I don't watch TV, so had to Google a youtube video to hear a sports announcer introduce her. Seems like it is 'Nah-KAH-say'. Thank you. SherryFromSF (talk) 16:27, 25 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

@SherryFromSF: Yes, you can refer to MOS:LEADPRON. Regards. —Bagumba (talk) 16:34, 25 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
So I would put this
^/nɑːˈkɑːseɪ/
after her last name? SherryFromSF (talk) 17:15, 25 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
@SherryFromSF: It's not something I usually edit, but from Ralph Fiennes and MOS:FULLNAME, it looks like it'd go inside the parenthetical before her birthdate. —Bagumba (talk) 17:43, 25 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
But just because an announcer pronounced it that way, it doesn't necessarily mean it's how she pronounces it--maybe it shouldn't be written as such unless we have footage of her saying her own name. She might easily prefer it stressed on the first syllable. 130.44.180.27 (talk) 21:55, 16 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
Feel free to present such footage. —Bagumba (talk) 22:10, 16 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
