User LP603 has made several contributions to this article. The user mentions being a representative of the company in their edit comments, and alludes to paid contributions on their user page. The history section of the page, which this user has contributed to, sounds more like promotional material than a neutral history of the firm. Accordingly, I believe the content of the article should be examined, evaluated for notability, and rewritten to remove the promotional tone. C(u)w(t)C(c) 15:08, 19 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

I intend to follow all related guidelines closely on the pages I edit - all edits I have made to this page are factual and neutral with links to relevant sources, and no promotional intention. In light of this, would it be possible to remove the maintenance template at the top of the page? LP603 (talk) 13:28, 21 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@ContinueWithCaution: Hello, hope you are well. Based on your comments, I've now switched to submitting requests here on the talk page for other editors to review instead of updating the page myself. Would you please advise if it's now possible to get the paid contributions tag removed, or explain what actions can be taken to further improve the page so it meets guidelines? Many thanks in advance. LP603 (talk) 11:28, 7 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Addition to the History section, based on Murex's work with European clients:

In 2021, Murex worked with organizations in Europe including Électricité de France, the French producer and supplier of energy, and Italian international bank Intesa Sanpaolo to develop CI/CD methodologies internally and deliver essential technology upgrades.

Not done: As with existing content on this article, the proposed edits are run into WP:NOT's principle that articles are to avoid listing things such as business alliances, clients, competitors, employees (except CEOs, supervisory directors and similar top functionaries) unless those details are clearly noteworthy based on coverage in independent, reliable sources. Nothing above presented suggests that every deployment and development of Murex's platform should be included. The IBS Times sources almost invariably read like straight press release copy; they are intensely promotional and filled with corporate jargon. Bobsguide, as far as I can tell, is simply a feed of Murex press releases as well. WhinyTheYounger (WtY)(talk, contribs) 18:07, 26 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Make changes to management and revenue in infobox

edit

(12/12/2024)

Hi there,

I am a paid contributor acting on behalf of Murex to recommend updates to this existing Wikipedia page. I am proposing the following edits for factual accuracy, based on changes to the management and revenue of the business.

Firstly, we need to make two changes to the ‘Key people’ section in the infobox. Now, the CEO of the company is Elias Eddé as of May 2024. As part of this transition, Maroun Eddé has become the executive chairman of the board of directors. This is cited in the Murex press release https://www.murex.com/en/news/murex-elias-edde-takes-ceo-role-financial-technology-leader-governance-transition-maroun-edde. Please include both on the page.

The revenue figure also needs to be updated to 714M€, based on the 2024 third party ranking study from EY - https://info.ey.com/WEM-FR-Multiple-GC-2024-11-12-Top250Editeurslogiciels24_01LP.html.

In summary –

·       CEO - Elias Eddé

·       Executive chairman of the board of directors - Maroun Eddé

·       Revenue - 714M€

Thank you. 89.197.190.253 (talk) 16:25, 12 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Request: changes to the revenue and company URL in infobox

edit

Hello Wikipedia editors,

I am a Murex employee (which I believe qualitifes as a paid contributor). I would like to request/recommend several updates to this existing Wikipedia article for Murex. This request covers a correction to the outdated annual revenue figure and the inclusion of the company URL in the infobox for factual accuracy, based on the actual company URL and the latest revenue numbers for Murex based on an independent third party source.

The official website for Murex is murex.com/ I hope this is straightforward--we simply want Wikipedia visitors to be able to see the Murex website address.

The second edit to the infobox is a correction to the annual revenue, which is based on a third-party ranking/study from Ernst & Young, Top 250 des éditeurs de logiciels français - 15e édition (2025): https://www.ey.com/fr_fr/insights/fast-growing-companies/top-250-editeurs-logiciels-francais. This puts Murex's annual revenue at 791.0 million euros. This figure is on page 39 of the report.

In summary:

URL: murex.com/

Revenue: 791M€

Please advise whether you can make these changes. I would like to try to make these changes the week of 8 June 2026. Many thanks for your time and consideration. Murexrepresentative (talk) 15:21, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
Thanks for the review. If the article simply left out the LinkedIn ranking, which is established by that company, not Murex, would the rewritten entry I provided above be acceptable, and if so, would please execute the rewrite of the article?

Rewrite of "Murex (financial software)" article (LinkedIn reference removed as per instruction)

edit

  • What I think should be changed (include citations):

(I am a paid contributor (a Murex employee) and propose the below major edit to the Wikipedia article on Murex, which would replace the current article on the page to eliminate promotional content and create a neutral, nonbiased entry and to have the tags currently on the article removed, should an editor agree that the promotional content has been successfully edited out.)

Murex is a financial services technology company and market infrastructure provider that provides enterprise-wide, cross-asset capital markets financial technology solutions. Its cross-function platform, MX.3, supports trading, treasury, risk management and post-trade operations.[1] [2]

Murex’s CEO is Elias Eddé. Its executive chairman is Maroun Eddé.[3] It was co-founded founded by Salim Eddé and Laurent Neel.[4]

MX.3, its integrated platform, is used by banks, asset managers, insurance companies, pension funds, hedge funds, corporations, energy utilities and commodities houses in over 65 countries.[5] For more than a decade, Murex has invested over EUR 100 million a year in the development of MX.3.[6]

Murex was founded in 1986 in Paris and is a private company. Murex currently employs over 3,400 worldwide.[7]

Its main office is in Paris. It has 20 global offices in cities such as Beirut, Dublin, Hong Kong, New York, London, Singapore and Sydney.[8]

  • Why it should be changed: (As currently written, the Murex Wikipedia article has multiple issues. Editors have flagged that it has promotional content and requires a cleanup. I am a Murex employee and paid contributor and have developed this neutral text backed by third-party sources that describes the company accurately and excludes partnership information. I think the draft text below should replace the existing text of the article. I have removed a reference to a LinkedIn ranking that the editor Spintendo flagged on my previous rewrite request, submitted on July 3. Thanks for your consideration.)

  Unable to review

  • Your edit request could not be reviewed because the provided references are not formatted correctly. The citation style predominantly used by the Murex article is Citation Style 1 (CS1). The citation style used in the edit request consists of bare URL's.[a] Any requested edit of yours which may be implemented will need to resemble the current style already in use in the article – in this case, CS1. (See WP:CITEVAR.) In the extended section below titled Citation style, I have illustrated two examples: one showing how the edit request was submitted, and another showing how requests should be submitted in the future:
  • Kindly resubmit the edit request below at your earliest convenience, taking care to ensure that it makes use of CS1. If you have any questions about this formatting please don't hesitate to ask myself or another editor.

Thanks for this guidance. I have submitted a rewrite request that takes this into perspective. Murexrepresentative (talk) 10:26, 13 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Notes

  1. The use of bare URLs as references is a style which is acceptable for use in Wikipedia. However, general practice dictates that the style already in use for an article be the one that is subsequently used for all future additions unless changed by editorial consensus.[1]

References

  1. "WP:CITEVAR - Wikipedia:Citing sources". Wikipedia. 20 October 2018. Retrieved 22 October 2018. Guideline: It is normal practice to defer to the style used by the first major contributor or adopted by the consensus of editors already working on the page, unless a change in consensus has been achieved. If the article you are editing is already using a particular citation style, you should follow it.
