"Unsophisticated"

The word is used by the translator, Godman, to describe how Moduin intended to portray the youth. It is not that I am commenting on Moduin's talent, but Godman is commenting on Moduin, who is writing a dialogue between a sophisticated old guy and an unsophisticated young guy.
