Fair use rationale for Image:Bowie ModernLove.jpg
edit
Image:Bowie ModernLove.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 18:17, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

edit"A re-recording with Tina Turner was also featured on an ill-fated Pepsi commercial" - why was the commercial ill-fated? Was it never broadcast? -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 19:08, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
I too don't know why it was 'ill-fated.' It WAS broadcast, just before an edited version of The Glass Spider Tour video was broadcast on American TV (I think on ABC). I still have the VHS of the broadcast. 87Fan (talk) 05:20, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Modern Love (song) → Modern Love (David Bowie song) – Dab from Modern Love (Peter Gabriel song) * Pppery * it has begun... 03:03, 10 January 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. ASUKITE 14:42, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose – I would argue Bowie's song is more of the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC when it comes to the title "Modern Love", based on its chart success and inarguably being more widely known than Gabriel's. And it's page views (Bowie's over 4,000 per month compared to Gabriel's 400 per month) basically confirm that. So there's no need to change it. – zmbro (talk) (cont) 16:05, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- Support a 10:1 probably isn't enough for a PDAB. Crouch, Swale (talk) 23:20, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- Support. Partial disambiguation is never a good idea. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:42, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- Weak Oppose - it does appear that the Bowie song is PTOPIC, and with 10x the views, and the first few pages of search results for google, news, videos, etc. it seems quite clear. This is further supported by the hatnote to Gabriels's song is not really used at all, per Wikinav (e.g. not the top 10 outbound links) - and per basic calc that means that it is less than 2% of all outbound links clicked on the Bowie song. I also am not persuaded by PDAB is never a good idea, because, well we have a rather lengthy information page specifically on that topic. However, the reason for weak is because I do find that 10x is on the lower end of the threshold I would think would be required, but everything else seems to overwhelmingly support the Bowie song as primary for songs. (FWIW, I actually am more familiar with the Gabriel song, but realize far more are familiar with Bowie based on research). TiggerJay (talk) 06:09, 17 January 2025 (UTC)

- Support per nomination; Crouch, Swale and Necrothesp. Modern Love (song) is indeed incomplete disambiguation and should redirect to the Modern Love#Songs disambiguation page. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 16:53, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
- Comment 11:1 pageviews seems to be borderline territory for a PDAB, but probably leaning against it. No comment on other factors outside of pageviews. Skarmory (talk • contribs) 09:40, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
