Duplicate "Mike Holmes (contractor)" article
editDelete this, and redirect all incoming links to "Mike Holmes". I have no idea why I created this stub in the first place - I must not have seen the other article or something, I dunno. But in any case, this one is redundant. -Alsadius 03:20, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- Just redirect to the other article. Reasonable title. Fan-1967 03:21, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- True enough. Thanks. Alsadius 03:25, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

editGood contractors are not a rarity. There are many good craftsmen at work and they are not in the minority.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.72.1.81 (talk • contribs). —Preceding undated comment added 17:09, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Holmes Media Appearances
editWhy isn't there links to Holmes's appearances on Marketplace and The Hour - they are on line and would act as proof that the appearance actually took place. ```` —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.77.81.154 (talk) 02:57, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- I know this is an old question, but this is a good place to point out that a Wikipedia article is not a personal website, and is not meant to be a repository of every single thing this person has ever done. 2603:8001:2A00:7428:284A:673B:68CC:5723 (talk) 17:41, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
Holmes on DVD
editThe first 5 seasons of Holmes on Homes are avaliable on DVD. I do believe Seasons 4 and 5 come on 4 DVDs (per season) rather then 2 DVDs for Seasons 1, 2 and 3. These DVDs are put out by Koch Vision in Canada. Seasons 3 and 4 also are sold as a 6PC Box. Holmes on Homes Season 5 has a street date of 11/20/2007 according to the Koch Entertainment website.
married?
editDoes he have a wife or husband or something?--Sonjaaa (talk) 00:59, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- The show's website shows that one member of his regular crew is Michael Holmes Jr., so I think you can draw your own conclusion. PKT (talk) 15:47, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- An article (which I cannot seem to find now) I read about Holmes indicates he is 'single', but he has three children. It can be assumed that he was either never married, or is divorced, but I have no way to confirm this. Mnbujold (talk) 21:29, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Halton Hills, ON?
editI could have sworn he's from Georgetown, ON... --FusionOpz (talk) 21:44, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Read the first sentence of the Georgetown, Ontario article. Mindmatrix 14:02, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
- Well the second paragraph of the Halton Hills community site states it's a town. --FusionOpz (talk) 03:28, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
As far as i know he is divorced and has 3 children and a grandchild, who are his life. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.57.222.37 (talk) 04:26, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
Holmes on Homes broadcasting
editSomebody updated the section about Holmes on Homes to indicate that it's shown in the UK on the Discovery Shed network/channel. I can believe it, but I could not find the program on the UK Discovery site at all - not even in their A-Z index of shows. Can anybody find references for the overseas broadcasts of Holmes on Homes? PKT(alk) 20:58, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
NPOV?
editI was going to quote some things I find disagreeable, like claims of "taking construction to a whole new level" [what does that even mean!?], but frankly this whole entry is slanted.
- Point taken. PKT(alk) 13:12, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
The Holmes Foundation Website has moved
editThe current link to the "Mike Holmes Foundation" ( http://www.theholmesfoundation.org/ ) in the "References" section (#1) is invalid. A quick google search returns http://makeitright.ca/Holmes_Foundation/ as the current foundation url. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DarwinSurvivor (talk • contribs) 15:40, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

Mike Holmes
editI don't know how to get a hold of you but my house is about to drive me crazy. My windows all have water sitting on them and they steam up really quick, then I have water dripping from my ceiling (condensation) and now I have had water lines break because of the cold weather and now I don't have hot water. Also, I move stuff away from the walls in my master bedroom closet and there is water on the floor and a lot of moisture on the walls.
Please help me Mr. mike homes, I need you badly.
Thank you,

Funding for renovations
editWho funds the renovations Holmes does for this shows? I've read elsewhere that the show covers some of the renovation costs, but that other times Holmes is working for a reduced rate to be paid by the homeowners. And other times that Holmes has actually used his own money to complete renovations when the TV show wouldn't cover any more expenses. If these are verifiable they should be added to the article. Gentek16 (talk) 00:32, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
- All of that has actually aired on-screen on Holmes on Homes, so if you can find the episodes where it's mentioned, you can add that -- 65.94.171.217 (talk) 06:31, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
Buy It Right
editHe also had another series premiere in Fall 2016 on DIY Network, "Holmes Buy It Right" (maybe just Buy It Right?) where he'd visit three houses with a couple looking to buy a house, and try to show them what repairs would be needed immediately and future work they were thinking of, and giving them an idea of the costs and potential problems (on the repair front). umrguy42 04:23, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

Holmes: Next Generation
editHolmes: Next Generation has been out on Amazon Prime Video for over a year now, but there's no mention of it in the article, despite newer shows than that being mentioned. I'm not very good at writing articles or I'd put it in myself, but it seems strange to me that it's missing. --Jerl (talk) 19:14, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
- You could just WP:EDIT the article, and aks people to clean it up later. You could also ask at WT:CANADA, provided you find proper references for it. -- 67.70.33.184 (talk) 08:21, 14 December 2019 (UTC)

Overly Hagiographic
editThis wikipedia article is overly hagiographic and reads like a promotion page. Given recent lawsuits and reporting by CBC about issue with the Meaford, Ont., development project that Holmes was heavily involved with, it is clear that this article needs major revisions, and perhaps total deletion and a start from scratch. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.42.45.242 (talk) 05:38, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
