Hi, reviewing this. I review by making a list of issues as I read through, rather than using a template; I'll make any minor grammar edits myself.

  • "Performing various actions in the app would earn virtual coins" - any examples?
  • " to leverage the latter's keen understanding of mobile platforms" - vaguely corporate speak, and "keen" is editorializing.
  • "Miitomo first launched in Japan on March 17, 2016" - repeats the previous paragraph. The second half of this sentence isn't as repetative but also reads oddly separated from the "released outside Japan on March 31" sentence. Should probably be combined with that one.
  • "Nintendo also stated that a browser-based Mii Maker tool would be created in late May" - they stated it in late May, or it would be created in late May? Or created then and released in late May?
    • The source specifies that Nintendo made the announcement through a notification "sent out to Miitomo players on April 30". Nintendo stated, "...we are planning to add a feature in late May 2018 which will enable you to create and edit Mii characters for your Nintendo account via your web browser of choice." I've reworked the sentence accordingly. TheBrickGraphic (talk) 22:10, 2 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • It's Nintendo, so probably not, but do we have any known reason/speculation why they shut it down?
    • Ok, this is silly of me, but I just found a Nintendo Support page that literally explains why they shut it down: "Q: Why are you terminating the Miitomo service at this time? A: We see this app as accomplishing a portion of our goal of getting Nintendo IP (in this case, Mii characters) into the hands of consumers across a variety of environments worldwide. At the same time, we've seen the number of ongoing users for the app decrease. We have decided to discontinue this service so that we can better optimize our operational resources across our entire smart device business." I've included this information in Shutdown and in the lead. TheBrickGraphic (talk) 22:10, 2 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • I'm a little hesitant to see a college student newspaper used as a source (UWM Post)
    • PresN I had checked their About Us page and they have a suprisingly thorough editorial policy, at least to me. I do understand that college newspapers are generally esoteric to the college in question, but I'd appreciate if you could check it for yourself. TheBrickGraphic (talk) 22:10, 2 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • "Writing for Digital Trends, Mike Epstein thought Miitmomo had very little inherent utility in everyday life" - not sure this fits under "presentation" rather than "features"
    • Determining how to categorize these reviews was such a mess. I see what you're saying, so I've tacked the review to the end of the second paragraph (beginning with "Opinions towards Miitomo's dedicated social features were also lukewarm.") instead. • I don't really have much else on the prose, this is pretty tidy.
  • Unused RS sources (you don't need to, but if you're already reaching for student newspapers): (Quartz (publication)), (New York (magazine)), there's a paywall but turning on reader view gets past it
  • No source issues found
