Line's English name

edit

I titled the article "Meitetsu Nagoya Line", because I thought its official English name was "Nagoya Line" sans "Main", despite its official Japanese name "名古屋本線" (literally "Nagoya Main Line"). Or, am I missing something? Kzaral 14:11, 19 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Somebody wrote "Route diagram translated from ja:名鉄名古屋本線 ver. 2008July9 at 09:22 UTC. Cleanup table of stations." on the bottom of the main page but I think it belongs here. As for the title, I think the way it is now (Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line) is ok. Usually "Honsen" lines, like this one, are translated as "X Main Line" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Trains_in_Japan/Style) haplo (talk) 07:30, 21 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Rate Attribute Review Comment
1. Well-written:
1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct. Well written. Optional improvement to split paragraphs up to make it look less overwhelming
1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation. Note that the link to the 5000 Series in the infobox links to a dab page.
2. Verifiable with no original research, as shown by a source spot-check:
2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline. 12 total sources
2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose). Optional improvement: in service pattern, a single citation on the table should be enough
2c. it contains no original research. See spot checks below
2d. it contains no copyright violations or plagiarism. Results from earwig 0%
3. Broad in its coverage:
3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic. Covers all main aspects (history, operations, service patterns)
3b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style). It is focused, no unnecessary details
4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each. Neutral
5. Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute. No evidence of edit wars
6. Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio:
6a. media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content. All are free use images.
6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions. Suitable captions and informative images. Optional improvement: adding images to the important stations on the line in the station list
7. Overall assessment. Overall great article, I enjoyed reading this. Pass
