I'd like a citation for "octuple/duodecuple whole note" -- I've been working on medieval music for years and never come across either term. Also the "alternative modern form of maxima rest" -- never seen it. Thanks! -- Michael Scott Cuthbert (talk) 15:02, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
- That's because we don't use this note in modern time signatures. A time signature with this note would need a top number 8 times the size of the bottom number (32/4 would be such a time signature.) Georgia guy (talk) 15:15, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
