The WFO pages for this genus make it clear that Manothrix as a genus does not exist. See Wikispecies entry.

One species is in the Mesechiteae section of the Apocynoideae and the other in the Rubiaceae.

I got an email reply from Rafaël Govaerts at Kew's Plants of the World Online, he agreed with Manothrix not being a valid genus and it will be reduced to synonymy in the next refresh of POWO.

I have no idea how to change this page in line with that. Ceropegius (talk) 14:28, 9 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
