Inventive Rhymes
editThe "inventive rhymes" you cite aren't rhymes at all. Hart knew this. It's ironic; he intentionally did it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.140.179.240 (talk) 19:32, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
Bette Midler?
editWhy is there a Bette Midler discography at the foot of the "Manhattan" (song) article? Wouldn't something about Rogers and Hart be more apropos? -- 96.245.109.133 (talk) 00:33, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
The Bronx Zoo is not free
editI don't go back to the Rodgers and Hart era; I was born in 1947. I don't think the Bronx zoo has ever been free during my lifetime, and I would like to see a reference validating the assertion in the article. Peter S. Shenkin (talk) 17:52, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
'We'll take Manhattan...'
editVersions section, last sentence: 'For many years during the 1960s and 1970s, radio station WABC-AM used the notes from the "We'll take Manhattan" lyric' There is no such lyric. The words are: We'll turn Manhattan into an isle of joy. https://genius.com/Rodgers-and-hart-manhattan-lyrics I am correcting the article accordingly. 'It's lovely going through The zoo'
editIt's most likely that the zoo referenced here is the Central Park Zoo, not the Bronx Zoo; Although it's true that the Bronx Zoo was already open by 1925. Per Wikipedia article on Central Park Zoo, by 1925 it was somewhat neglected and run down. Hence "lovely" is likely more irony. 69.123.228.166 (talk) 02:37, 4 September 2025 (UTC)
