I'll take this Olliefant (she/her) 08:15, 26 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Lead

  • Looks good, though I think the citations can probably removed from the infobox as their sourced elsewhere
  • This is actually pretty standard for character articles when it comes to voice actors and creators, as the infobox tends to be the most contended point with these articles

Conception and development

  • "Each Pokémon have one or two elemental types" I think this should be "has" and not "have"
  • Took a bit to check but yeah, you're right. That's going to be a lot of fixing across multiple articles...
  • "iconic style of Pokémon art director Ken Sugimori who has been designing Pokémon" I think there's a comma missing after "Sugimori"
  • Fixed

Design

  • List "3DS" as "Nintendo 3DS"
  • Fixed (shortened the following Nintendo Switch bit to Switch so we don't have double Nintendo)
  • Link both "Nintendo 3DS" and "Nintendo Switch"
  • Fixed.
  • "Prior to this form's reveal, a marketing blitz dubbed "My Friend Malamar" would be held by The Pokémon Company,[1] with trailers depicting characters in the games' universe being hypnotized by Malamar into admiring it and loving it.[2]" this seems more relevant under "Appearances"
  • Moved down, replaced unsourced paragraph.

Appearances

  • "but this plot was foiled by series protagonist Ash Ketchum and his friends" as the Pokemon anime has a revolving cast I'd clarify who Ash's friends were at the time.
  • Linked the Screen Rant ref here, but it also just says his friends (more accurately "gang"). I think for the reader's sake it better to keep it simple, as we throw a lot of characters at the reader in this block.
  • Also note which season it was (XY if I recall correctly, I remember watching this episode premiere)
  • Fixed.
  • Delink "Pokémon Legends: Z-A" on second mention
  • Fixed.
  • In the last paragraph "Pokémon Legends: Z-A" isn't properly italicized
  • Fixed.
  • Also, the final paragraph is unsourced
  • Replaced with the earlier bit from Design.

Critical reception

  • Image is missing alt text
  • Fixed.
  • "... led to similar ideas in his own games" any example?
  • He didn't actually give any.
  • Add a sic after "belie a Pokemon" in the Comic Book Resources quote
  • Just accented the e instead in the quote; adding a sic here may confused the reader as to what exactly is off, and I believe we've fixed similar in quotes elsewhere in these articles.
  • "ScreenRant" should be "Screen Rant"
  • Fixed.
  • "Dreamworks Pictures" should be "DreamWorks Pictures
  • Fixed

References

  • Refs 17-19 are showing up as dead despite being live. Need to be marked as such
  • This is a quirk of the Cite Tweet template, as the archive bot doesn't normally check it so it's better to be safe and leave them marked as dead (if you notice, the archives themselves have to jump through a hoop to even get made)
  • Refs 25 and 26 are missing the author
  • Fixed, fixed ref formatting too.
  • Ref 28 "GREATEST POKEMON OF ALL TIME" shouldn't be all caps
  • Fixed
  • Ref 29 is improperly formatted
  • Fixed
  • Why is "Shacknews" reliable?
  • Shacknews is deemed reliable by multiple discussions WP:VG/S, due to its full-time staff and editorial policies. (Also fixed wikilink)
    • Oh I totally missed that on VG/S
  • Linking is for the most part consistent except for Polygon. Its not linked on its first use in ref 16 but on its third use in ref 32
Fixed.
  • Ran a script to make the dates consistent
  • Ref 30 should link to "ComicBook.com"
  • Ref 31 should link to "The Verge"

Misc

  • A single MOS Dash violation that I fixed
  • Spot checks find nothing

@Olliefant I believe I've addressed all issues mentioned above!--Kung Fu Man (talk) 13:09, 26 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

@Kung Fu Man: I found two more additional issues (both to do with citations), both are easy fixes that I trust you can do relatively quickly so I'll go ahead and pass this right now Olliefant (she/her) 17:18, 26 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
