Regarding India's North-East

edit

Don't know if India's North-East is excluded form mainland India or not ... In the editorial of The Hindu I found the NE states being excluded from mainland India. Refer below link

Yes, with respect to north east india, the rest of india is referred to as mainland in many sources. ex: [A Face Apart: How does mainland India view the Northeast? https://thenortheasttoday.com/a-face-apart-how-does-mainland-india-view-the-northeast/] . Someone plz update the article according to this. SriHarsha Bhogi (talk) 19:19, 19 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

OR and SYNTH?

edit

@Kautilya3: can you check this article for WP:OR and WP:SYNTH. I'm not sure weather a multitude of WP:NEWSOPEDs and WP:NEWSORGs cited here even qualify as reliable sources for this type of topic at all. There are few scholarly sources but even those might need to be checked for actual usage of the term in the way implied here. UnpetitproleX (talk) 14:17, 20 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

@Kautilya3: Take for example how this al jazeera article about growing popularity of Korean films and TV series in Manipur was used as a reference for "Northeast ... ending up trending towards East Asian cultural influences as a result." The article also does not mention the term "mainland India" anywhere. UnpetitproleX (talk) 14:27, 20 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
Also the inclusion of this scholarly article as a source is likely WP:SYNTH. UnpetitproleX (talk) 14:31, 20 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
And it has been used to write the "history" section--especially concerning. UnpetitproleX (talk) 14:43, 20 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
All sources for Kashmir (references 1 through 5) are WP:NEWSOPED or WP:NEWSORG, not reliable. UnpetitproleX (talk) 14:36, 20 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
