Lodrino Air Base → Riviera Airport (Switzerland) – The air base has closed and the airport has transitioned to civilian use under a new name. Rosbif73 (talk) 08:29, 25 February 2026 (UTC) — Relisting. Jeffrey34555 (talk) 15:25, 4 March 2026 (UTC)

- @Rosbif73 Could you please provide some reliable sources to back this up? I've briefly looked and found a few, but nothing great. Normally I'd expect to find a proper article about a transfer like this. Toadspike [Talk] 18:52, 5 March 2026 (UTC)
- The airport is pretty small and there don't seem to be many sources out there, unfortunately. There's a primary source in the article: . The equivalent frwiki article has a news source: . There are also listings in various databases, e.g. and mentions such as that confirm the change of name. Rosbif73 (talk) 20:10, 5 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hrm. Company website, RUAG press release, FAI (hobby organization) database entry, and some kind of event listing. If I were being picky, none of these are reliable, unless we're considering the company source as WP:ABOUTSELF. I think, though, that there's no need to be so picky, so I support this move. I was able to find as well, and sources like confirm that the airfield is being used for non-military purposes, but don't say directly that it was transferred. - Support rename. The base is now an airport and should have an apprioate air field/airport type name. -Fnlayson (talk) 16:18, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
- FWIW the current title is inaccurate for the military installation as well – as far as I can tell, it was officially called a "Flugfeld" (lit. 'air field'). Toadspike [Talk] 16:34, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

edit- The correct (English) name for Locarno Air Base is here Note that I have only corrected the name; I am not providing any citations to support the existing text.
- Once you understand that 'alternate' is aviation slang for alternate airport, the link to the municipality of Locarno becomes an obvious error. But you can also check back to earlier versions of this article e.g. 2014, to see what was originally written.
