Spires and Antennas height inclusion
editAs per the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), functional antennas should not be included in height comparison. In this case for example, the 1250 René-Lévesque should be listed as 199m and not 230m.

- Please disregard this point as the 1250 is mounted by a decorative spire, on which an antennea was added later, making the added height eligible as per the CTBUH criteria. Patrice670 (talk) 17:22, 2 February 2024 (UTC)

Convert table to static row numbers?
editTable of tallest buildings should possibly be concverted so as to be able to use {{Static row numbers}}, could potentially save a lot of time in terms of updating the table when there are new entries. Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 08:14, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
Two height columns?
editWhy are there two separate listings for skyscraper height? The one that is labelled as CTBUH seems fine but the other one doesn't have any citations and while it does include antenna and spire heights where applicable, wouldn't it make more sense for that to be specifically for height to pinnacle? Inconsistency in the treatment of the CN Tower across related lists
editI wanted to raise a point about consistency between this list and the sister page List of tallest buildings in Canada.
On the Canada list, the CN Tower is explicitly excluded from the main ranking, with a clear explanation that it is not a habitable building and therefore does not qualify as a building. However, on this page (List of tallest buildings in North America), the CN Tower is included at the top of the same table (marked as N/A), even though the article itself states that the list ranks buildings.
This creates an inconsistency: the same structure is treated differently depending on which list the reader is looking at.
While I understand the intention was to provide context for comparison, placing a non-building structure directly inside the main table of buildings can be confusing for readers. A cleaner approach might be to:
- Remove the CN Tower from the main table, and
- If comparison is still considered useful, mention it briefly in the lead section or display it as an image with a caption (for example, showing it alongside the tallest buildings for scale).
This would align better with how the Canada list handles it and would keep the main table focused strictly on buildings, as the article title and criteria suggest.

- I think it's fine as long as we're being consistent that it's not a building. Including it on the Toronto list and the North America list makes sense. I wouldn't mind including it here too. LivinAWestLife (talk) 20:20, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
