Talk:List of planet types

Add a subcategory "For Volume" for category "Planet Types" + Add a new planet type to the subcategory "Other Types"

edit

So my suggestion is to add a subcategory regarding types of planets in relation to their volume (mass ≠ volume). There it is:

For Volume/Size

  • Jovian Planets: Roughly equal size to Jupiter.
  • Neptunian Planet: Around equal volume to Neptune.
  • Superterran Planet: Larger than Earth and smaller than Neptune. (Normally 2 times bigger than Earth)
  • Terran Planet: Roughly the same size as Earth.
  • Subterran Planet: Smaller than Earth but bigger than Mercury. Around the same volume as Mars. (Normally 2 times smaller than Earth)
  • Mercurian Planet: About the same size as Mercury.

(I forgot to add the one in other sizes subcategory, sorry!
  • Zombie Planets: Formed after asteroids, remnants from a supernova, collide into a planet. Usually orbits black holes and neutron stars.)

Earth is NOT an ocean planet, right?

edit

By the definitions of ocean planet given in its article, Earth does not have enough water to be considered one. Therefore it should not be listed as one, right? I'll wait for a regular contributor to decide this. ~2026-34739-75 (talk) 00:58, 13 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
