Areas of Indigenous Territories in Amazonas

The areas of many of the territories in Amazonas are inflated by 3 orders of magnitude or so. The area of the Yanomami Territory is listed as over 9 BILLION hectares, or about 5.5 times the size of Russia, when it should actually be closer to 9.5 MILLION hectares. ~2025-34977-16 (talk) 03:10, 20 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

I confirm the same observation. I suspect this comes from wrong translation of Portuguese "mil" which means "thousand". Author of the tables probably translated this to "million" and made the numbers larger by 3 orders. ~2026-20447-59 (talk) 10:12, 2 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
