J. B. Hilling, in his The Architecture of Wales: From the First to the Twenty-First Centuries, writes "Altogether seventeen Carnegie libraries were built in Wales".(p=217) This doesn't match our list where we have about 33, or this source or this source, which both talk of 35 - much closer to our number. The first source does write of 17 remaining as libraries - is this what Hilling meant? However, this source is showing over 50, and for me it looks the most definitive of the three. Anyone know of a definitive source? KJP1 (talk) 15:24, 1 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
- Confusing, and clearly not that definitive - it shows sites where proposed grants were declined, but, as an example lists the Abergavenny Library as Gorseinon, and says it was declined when it was in fact accepted and built. KJP1 (talk) 15:35, 1 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
- Counted 32 in this source and likely missed a few. KJP1 (talk) 17:22, 1 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
